40 tracks, includes several 'Live' tracks • 70 minutes • 1993

Sam Bond was a mummer in the North Waltham 'gang'. When they went out at Christmas-time they performed their play and afterwards were often called upon to entertain. Sam picked up many of his songs and tunes at this time. He was also a member of a village dance band in the 1930s playing a mixture of traditional music and the popular tunes of the time at dances across northern Hampshire.

Recorded when he was in his 70s, Sam was still a fine mouth-organ player and here we have some local stepdances, polkas and song tunes. We also have several of Sam's songs, including the song that he always sang after the mummer's play " Where does Father Christmas go to in the summertime?"

Some of these tracks were recorded in the pubs of north Hampshire where Sam was a leading member of a Saturday night session during the late 1970s.

With only four cassette copies available we intend to transfer this to a Bespoke CD-R in the future.
