19 tracks - 12 recorded 'Live' • 76 minutes • 2003

Steve is able to charm an audience with unaccompanied classic ballads or songs from the tradition such as 'Little Musgrave' and 'The Captain's Apprentice', plus well known songs from the music hall like 'The Man who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo'. He is also well known for his stories which he tells with great humour.

Over the years the sound of his tuneful and mellow voice has taken him from the platforms of folk clubs and festivals to the stages of both theatre and village hall, where he never fails to entertain with his performance as a 'story-singer'. As in the live session captured here, recorded in the club room at Wherwell, Hampshire.

"I can honestly say that the hour sped by. Not one track grated on me... To sum up then: an honest album from an honest character. A man with a serious voice and a nice line in humour."
