"AN HOUR OF HAMPSHIRE SONGS"
Easter Saturday 7th April 12.30-1.30pm.
at the Limes Hotel, Catisfield, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5NN

A selection of great songs of South East Hampshire
Anne Winter, Anna Baldwin and Bob Askew

This concert was a unique and very enjoyable way to highlight the wealth and variety of songs - some little known today - that George Gardiner collected in the East and South East of Hampshire. The songs were in the main sung unaccompanied, as they would have been when Gardiner was collecting them.

*This song was collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1904 from the singing of a Mrs Verral of Monks Gate near Horsham in Sussex. It was included in the programme to illustrate variations of the same tune. Gardiner collected The Blacksmith but it was to a totally differerent tune.

The concert was recorded and I hope some audio clips can be added soon.

Bob, Anna and Anne are hoping to take this show around Folk Clubs and Festivals.
